Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Harry's first year at Hogwarts introduced him to Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and the truth about his parents' murder by Voldemort. He stopped Professor Quirrell from stealing the Philosopher's Stone for the weakened Dark Lord. In his second year, Harry discovered that Tom Riddle's enchanted diary had manipulated Ginny Weasley into opening the Chamber of Secrets. He killed the basilisk, destroyed the diary and learned that Riddle was Voldemort's younger self. During his third year, the wizarding world hunted Sirius Black, who had escaped from Azkaban and was believed to have betrayed Harry's parents. Harry encountered the prison's terrifying Dementor guards and learned the Patronus Charm from Professor Remus Lupin. Harry later discovered that Sirius was his godfather and had been framed: the real betrayer was Peter Pettigrew, who had spent years disguised as Ron's pet rat, Scabbers. Lupin's transformation into a werewolf allowed Pettigrew to escape before he could be exposed publicly. With Hermione's Time-Turner, Harry saved the hippogriff Buckbeak and helped Sirius escape on its back. Sirius remains a fugitive rather than a cleared man, Pettigrew is at large, and Voldemort has not returned to full strength. Harry nevertheless has a new connection to his parents through his godfather and knows more about the people whose choices shaped their fate.
