STORY RECAP

What happened before Tomorrow Never Dies?

In GoldenEye, James Bond and Alec Trevelyan infiltrate a Soviet chemical weapons lab in 1986, but Bond escapes after Trevelyan is seemingly executed. Nine years later, Bond investigates the theft of a GoldenEye satellite, which was used to destroy a Russian radar site and several fighter jets. He discovers that Trevelyan, who faked his death, is leading the Janus crime syndicate and seeks revenge for his parents' betrayal by the British. Bond teams up with Natalya Simonova, and together they pursue Trevelyan's accomplices, including Ourumov and Onatopp. After a series of intense confrontations, Bond and Natalya escape the Janus base, and Bond kills Trevelyan by dropping him into the satellite dish. The GoldenEye satellite disintegrates, and Trevelyan is killed by the debris. Ultimately, Bond and Natalya are rescued by Wade and U.S. Marines and taken to Guantanamo Bay Naval Base.
