The Bourne Legacy

The Bourne Identity begins with Jason Bourne, an amnesiac, being rescued by Italian fishermen with gunshot wounds. As he tries to piece together his past, he discovers various passports, IDs, and a handgun in a Zurich safe deposit box. Bourne is pursued by CIA agents from Operation Treadstone, led by Alexander Conklin, and meets Marie Kreutz, who agrees to help him. They evade the police and eventually take refuge in the French countryside. After a series of events, including a confrontation with Conklin and the Professor, Bourne recalls his attempt to assassinate Wombosi and flees. Conklin is killed, and Abbott shuts down Treadstone, reporting to an oversight committee. Bourne reunites with Marie in Mykonos. As the story continues in The Bourne Supremacy, Jason Bourne and Marie Kreutz are living in exile in Goa. However, their life is disrupted when Kirill, a Russian agent, kills Marie while framing Bourne for the attack. Bourne flees and sets out to clear his name, visiting Jarda, the only other remaining Treadstone operative, and later kidnapping Nicky Parsons to uncover the truth. He discovers that Abbott stole $20 million and framed him for the theft, and that Abbott had ordered Kirill to kill Marie. Bourne's investigation leads to Abbott's downfall, and he eventually meets with Landy in New York City, where she reveals his original name, David Webb. The Bourne Ultimatum picks up with Jason Bourne evading Moscow police while wounded and dealing with flashbacks of his time in Operation Treadstone. CIA Deputy Director Pamela Landy reveals the audiotaped confession of Ward Abbott, and journalist Simon Ross writes about Operation Blackbriar, the program succeeding Treadstone. Bourne meets Ross, but he is shot dead by an assassin, and Bourne sets out to uncover the truth about Blackbriar. He follows a series of leads, killing several agents and eventually confronting Dr. Albert Hirsch about his past. Hirsch reveals that Bourne actually volunteered for Treadstone and willingly killed a man to prove his loyalty. After a final confrontation with Paz and Vosen, Bourne jumps into the East River and survives. Three days later, Nicky watches a news broadcast about the exposure of Operation Blackbriar and the arrests of Hirsch and Vosen.
