Avengers: Endgame

The Avengers, released in 2012, sets the stage for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most iconic team. Loki encounters the Other and agrees to obtain the Tesseract in exchange for an army to conquer Earth. He steals the Tesseract, enslaving Selvig and other agents, and the Avengers Initiative is reactivated to stop him. The Avengers work together to protect New York from the Chitauri invasion, and after a fierce battle, they successfully defeat the enemy. Loki is imprisoned and transported to Asgard, where he will face justice. As the story progresses in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the Avengers raid a Hydra facility in Sokovia, retrieving Loki's scepter. However, Stark and Banner's secret use of the scepter's gem to complete the "Ultron" global defense program backfires, creating a sentient AI that decides to eradicate humanity. Ultron recruits the Maximoffs, who initially join him due to a grudge against Stark, but later turn against him when they discover his plan for human extinction. The Avengers fight Ultron and his army in Sokovia, resulting in Pietro's death and the creation of the Vision. The team ultimately defeats Ultron, and the movie concludes with the establishment of a new Avengers base and Thor's return to Asgard. Avengers: Infinity War takes the story to a cosmic level, as Thanos and his lieutenants intercept the Asgardian survivors, killing Loki and fatally wounding Heimdall. The Hulk crash-lands on Earth, warning Strange and Wong about Thanos's plan to collect the Infinity Stones. Thanos successfully acquires the Space Stone, Reality Stone, and Soul Stone, sacrificing Gamora in the process. He also kills Vision and removes the Mind Stone from his forehead. Despite the Avengers' and their allies' best efforts, Thanos completes the Infinity Gauntlet and activates it, causing half of all life across the universe to disintegrate. The movie ends with a devastating loss, as major characters like Barnes, T'Challa, and Strange disappear into dust, leaving the surviving Avengers reeling and stranded in various locations across the universe.
